Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and Assistive Technology can yield meaningful communication outcomes for students and clients.  This session provided information to consider and implement AAC and AT for intervention.  Participants walked away with evidence-based practices to support AAC and AT needs for students, clients and patients.

For the first decade of my career as a speech-language pathologist, I was unsure of my skills when using AAC and AT.  With time, help from SLP peers, trainings, my sentiments for AAC and AT changed.  This course will provide the most functional content for AAC and AT use.  Additionally, I will share stories of how AAC and AT have impacted the lives of my students and clients.

Participants will describe use and value core vocabulary words
Participants will discuss AAC and AT interventions to maximize speech and language outcomes in educational and clinical settings.
