MLU-W Growth in Early School Age Bilingual Children

Described by Bedore and colleagues (2010)

Bedore and colleagues (2010) noted that bilingual children increase their MLU over the course
of the early school years. They pull from several different studies (Muñoz et al., (2003); Miller
et al. (2006); Simón-Cereijido & Gutiérrez-Clellen, (2009)) and to show that between the ages
of 4;4 and 7;0 bilingual children show a generally steady increase in MLU ranging from 4.85 to
5.96 in English and from 4.51 to 5.7 in Spanish.

           Age English Spanish
