BIAS IN TESTING
Let’s talk about bias in testing. Most tests in our
field were designed for monolingual children
who speak Standardized American English
(SAE). When correct responses are limited to
those that are consistent with (SAE), there are
a lot of children from diverse backgrounds who
are going to be penalized because of that
diversity.
