what dynamic assessment is, to learning why it is so effective, to
learning how to use it, and seeing it in action through case studies.

Part 1: What Dynamic Assessment Is and What it Is Not

We need to wade into the research weeds a bit to be able to trust the
process by knowing that DA has solid science behind it. Before we
begin though, we want to simply show you what DA looks like and how
it is performed because it is simple, elegant, and not scary. We also
know that everyone is arriving to this e-book with different
(mis)conceptions about what testing dynamically is, so this part will get
everyone on the same page.

Part 2: Why Use Dynamic Assessment?

Typically we are taught about all of the ways dynamic assessment
improves testing outcomes. Very important. But did you know that you
also have a lot to gain from using it? It pays off big time in the form of
reduced testing time and reduced caseloads resulting from writing
accurate goals and only qualifying kids who truly need services.
