Phonological Process Use by Spanish-speaking,
English-speaking, and Bilingual Children.
The following series of graphs come from studies completed using data from the BAPA
Standardization project. There are three sets of graphs. The first set explores the use of
phonological processes in Spanish by bilingual English-Spanish speakers from Spanish-
speaking homes. The second set explores the use of phonological processes in English by
English-Spanish speakers from Spanish-speaking homes. The third set compares the use of
phonological processes by monolingual and bilingual (English-Spanish) children in English. On
the Y-Axis of the chart is the average frequency of occurrence of the processes on the BAPA,.
On the X-Axis are the different phonological processes.
The follow data sets come from standardization of the Bilingual Articulation Phonology
Application BAPA), Version 4.3, 2017.
