Friendship Flag FRIEND

Show an example of a flag. Explain that it is a symbol for a country. It reminds us
to get along and work together. Tell the students that they will make a friendship
flag.
How to: The children work together and take turns placing their handprints on
the strips of paper.

Once all the strips are finished, glue them to the larger piece of paper.

The children again take turns pasting the star with their name on it in the upper
left corner of the flag.

During the activity, discuss how friends work together, take turns, and have fun
together. Ask the children how they feel when their friends share and take turns.

Materials: finger paint, a large sheet of paper, wide strips of different colored
paper, stars with children’s names, glue
