This course was designed for monolingual and bilingual Speech-Language Pathologists who work with children learning English as their second language. A framework was provided to help speech-language pathologists increase their clinical judgment in determining whether bilingual students are impaired.

Participants will be able to:

  • List reasons for testing both languages
  • Discuss formal and informal measures for testing ELLs
  • Identify which tests to use when a student is not represented in the normative samples.
  • Choose the language(s) of evaluation
