Lady Bug Egg Carton

Suggested book: The Grouchy Ladybug/La mariquita malhumorada

Materials needed: red and black paint, single cups cut from egg cartons or
paper cups, paintbrushes, googly eyes, glue, pipe cleaners

Directions for Adult:

This is a great activity to introduce long term projects. Each step is simple and
short and the student s get excited each time they get to come back and work
on their ladybug again.

1. Cut egg cartons into individual cups. There should be 12 cups from one full
size carton. You will need 1 cup per ladybug.
2. Cut pipe cleaners into 2-inch pieces. You will need 6 pieces for ladybug legs
and 2 pieces for the antennas.

3. Pierce holes in carton cup for legs and antennas.

Directions for Student:

1. Paint the cup red.

2. Paint black dots.

3. Glue on the eyes.
4. Put each foot into the holes on the bottom.

5. Put each antenna into the hole on top.

Instrucciones para el estudiante:

1. Pinta la taza roja.

2. Pinta las manchas negras.
3. Pega los ojos.

4. Pon cada pata por los agujeros en la parte abajo.

5. Pon cada antena por los agujeros en la parte arriba.
