Approximately one out of fifty-nine children in the United States lives with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). Understanding the behavioral, social and communication needs of individuals with ASD can maximize your efforts as a speech-language pathologist. This comprehensive course will provide effective, evidence-based practices with family-centered practice in mind.

This session provided evidence-based practices for speech-language pathologists working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Functional strategies to address behavioral, pragmatic and communication needs were discussed to maximize clinical and educational efforts. Additionally, family-centered practice was discussed to support the comprehensive needs of the client/student.

Identify effective, evidence-based practices for clients and students with Autism Spectrum Disorder to address receptive and expressive communication, behavioral and social/pragmatic needs.
